Hi! My name is Lily and I’m a Pilates Instructor and cycling commuter. I started teaching Pilates in 2019 after practicing on and off for years (my first exposure to Pilates was through Mari Winsor infomercials way back in high school, anyone else?!)
Through my personal Pilates journey, I have reshaped my relationship with exercise from one of repetitive action that bored both my body and mind, to one of exploration and discovery. Today, I’m consistently amazed by my body’s ever-evolving potential, as well as its ability to communicate with me. All it took was slowing things down, connecting my mind and breath to the movement. All it took was Pilates.
By building and elaborating on the fundamentals that changed my body and my relationship with it, I continue to set clear goals for my life-long Pilates practice. Because for me, it’s all about longevity and aging well. That may seem like a ridiculous thing for a 30-something year old to say, but it’s never too early to start preparing for the rest of your life!
This same philosophy - that Pilates as a life-time practice and not a quick fix - is the approach I take when partnering with my clients to identify their own strengths, opportunities and goals. No matter the focus, each session is an opportunity to better understand your body through movement within the studio, then transfer that knowledge to everyday life.
